영어 한마디(oath)

 

oath는 보통 '맹세, 서약, 선서'의 뜻을 가지나 화・놀람 등을 나타내는 '욕설'의 뜻으로도 사용됩니다.

 

 

<예문>

 

It wasn't me who talked behind your back on oath.

맹세코 네 욕을 한 건 내가 아니다.

 

She heard the sound of breaking glass, followed by a muttered oath.

그녀는 유리잔 깨지는 소리가 나더니 뒤이어 욕설을 중얼거리는 소리를 들었다.
